They wanted something very different to what they’ve had before. It’s a hand-drawn custom type and then modified it on screen to create this original font. The type also incorporates the fist logo into the ‘W’.

I’ve been playing around with custom hand-drawn typography lately and this is one of a few designs. It’s a great way to show off some custom hand-drawn type. The design is based around a mixture of the club logo and the website address. I got to create whatever design I wanted but using the quote “the difference between pornography and erotica is lighting”. I went with this drippy, liquid-looking, custom type which is going to look big on the front of a t-shirt.

A few months ago Gestalten invited Siah Design participate in their book. They chose 10 logos to be published in the book. The book should be available for purchase in North America by late September.

It’s definitely not the first publication that deals with the topic of “T-shirts”, but it’s the first one that focuses exclusively on the typography phenomenon in T-shirt culture.
